Worcester, MA (August 22, 2017) – On August 22nd, 2017 at about 6:45 PM, officers from the Worcester Police Gang Unit were on patrol in the area of McDonald’s on Main St. One of the officers noticed a male, Robert Hector, eighteen-years-old of 8 Louise St, who he knew had a warrant. Mr. Hector was a passenger in a 2017 Toyota that was exiting the McDonald’s parking lot. The officers pulled behind the vehicle and activated their blue lights, and the vehicle stopped in front of McDonald’s. The officers approached from the passenger’s side, and asked Mr. Hector to step out of the vehicle. He was placed under arrest and handcuffed for the warrant, and a search incident to arrest revealed a loaded handgun in his right front pocket. Mr. Hector did not have a license to carry firearms.
Because of the presence of the illegal weapon, the operator of the vehicle and the other passengers were taken out of the car. Jennifer Ruccio, eighteen-years-old of 17 Bailin Drive, had an active warrant and was placed under arrest. Officers located a box of live ammunition in the driver’s side door compartment. The driver, Travis Tolson, twenty-five-years-old of 30 Tirrell St, did not have a license to carry firearms or an FID card. He was placed under arrest for Possession of Ammunition without an FID card. A bag with several small baggies was discovered in the car, and one of the bags had several light-colored pills. The pills were sent to the WPD Vice Squad for identification.
The three individuals placed under arrest will be arraigned in Worcester District Court today.
