Worcester, MA (September 1, 2013) - On Sunday, September 1, 2013, at approximately 4:45 AM, Worcester Police were dispatched to 121 Bailey Road, the Crestwood Arms, for a report of an injured person. Upon police arrival they observed an 18-year-old male, unresponsive and not breathing. Emergency CPR was performed at the scene until the arrival of Worcester EMS. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead at approximately 5:41 AM.
The cause of death is unknown at this time. The medical examiners office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Members of the Worcester Police Detective Bureau arrived at the scene. The Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed evidence. Numerous interviews were conducted by investigators.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attending a party inside one of the apartments. There were several people attending the party. An altercation between the victim and another member within the apartment occurred. The argument between the two men continued outside the apartment.
During the altercation the victim was struck with an object and the fight ended. The victim ran off. He was found later on by friends on the property of the complex.
