Worcester, MA (October 31, 2017)- On Monday, October 30, 2017, at approximately 10:54 AM, Worcester police responded to 68 Stafford Street, Sally Beauty Supply, for a reported armed robbery. Upon the officers arrival they met with the clerk. According to the clerk, she was working in one of the isles when a male entered the store and approached the counter. The clerk walked behind the counter and asked the male if he could be helped. The male stated that he was interested in a particular item. The clerk went to the item requested and the male followed her. At this time the male produced a hypodermic needle and demanded cash from the register. The male threatened to poke her with the needle if she didn’t comply.
The male took the cash and fled towards Stafford Street.
The was described as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall, medium build, blue eyes, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
Several officers responded to the scene and searched the area for the suspect. The extensive search eventually produced negative results.
The clerk was not harmed but shaken. Worcester EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The clerk was subsequently released from the hospital after being looked at by medical personnel.
WPD investigators and members of the Crime Scene Unit arrived and interviewed witnesses and processed evidence.
