Worcester, MA (April 11, 2017) - On Monday, April 10, 2017 at approximately 1:50 PM, Worcester police responded to a motor vehicle and motorcycle collision in the area of Millbrook Street and Gold Star Boulevard. Upon the officers arrival, they discovered that a motor vehicle had actually collided with two motorcyclists.
Worcester EMS arrived and treated the two victims at the scene. The victims, age 31 and 33-years-old were then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Worcester Police Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the two male victims were each riding their motorcycles north on Gold Star Boulevard. The two men were traveling in the far left (west side) of the 4 lane one way road. Meanwhile a 52-year-old woman was test driving a new 2017 Toyota RAV-4, pulled out of Harr Ford, attempted to cross over all 4 lanes of traffic heading towards Ruthven Road.
At this time the first motorcycle being operated by the 31-year-old male, started to brake to avoid a collision. The motorcycle started into a skid then struck the front left corner of the Toyota. The second motorcycle operated by the 33-year-old victim skidded before striking the rear of the Toyota.
After contact, the first motorcycle continued until it struck the building of Honey Dew Donuts. After the collision, the second operator was forced to lay the bike down.
The operator of the first bike is currently listed in stable condition with neck and shoulder injuries while the second operator is also in stable condition with a leg injury.
This investigation continues to be active. Investigators processed and mapped out the scene. Investigators also interviewed witnesses. At this time there have been no citations issued, however it is anticipated that charges will follow at the conclusion of this investigation.
