Worcester Program for Addiction Recovery Accepting Volunteers

For Immediate Release: 4/24/2017 9:54 am

The Worcester Police Department is currently accepting applications for volunteers. Our training program is anticipated to begin in May, and will run for six weeks on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00pm. If you are interested in becoming a WPAR Advocate Volunteer, please complete an application through one of the links listed below. The application deadline has been extended to Friday April 28, 2017.

The Worcester Program for Addiction Recovery (WPAR) is a community-based program developed to help, support, and engage individuals who would benefit from addiction treatment. Our goal is to end the isolation of individuals facing addiction and connect with them on a personal level, while introducing them to the amazing recovery community and resources in the Worcester area. We offer guidance in all pathways to recovery. These include, but are not limited to: medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery support groups, counseling, and family outreach and support.

WPAR Advocate Volunteers can help to bridge the gap between police officers and those in need, and can help to guide individuals and families to informational resources, clinical resources, and community support. Advocate Volunteers are a crucial part of our program.

Thank you for your interest and helping us achieve our vision in helping those suffering from addiction.

Please also feel free to contact us at or 508-453-6730 if you have any questions.

Thank you!
