Worcester Police Department Welcomes Two New K9s

Worcester, MA (August 10, 2017) – The Worcester Police Department announced the addition of two new dogs to the K9 Unit. K9 Elvis and K9 Beebs have completed 12 weeks of patrol training at the Boston Police K9 Academy. The academy provided Worcester police officers: Officer Daniel Pennellatore and Officer Mark Jolin and their canine partners with intense training that has prepared them to perform their duties and patrol the city. One of the canines will im...mediately begin work on patrol while the other will continue training to receive certification in narcotics detection. Both canines are of the Belgian Malinois breed and just over a year old. The two new police dogs will join the two other canines currently on the force. The Worcester Police K9 Unit is partially funded by community sponsors including Saint-Gobain and Vest-A- Dog.
