Worcester, MA (January 18, 2012) - On January 17, 2012, at approximately 6:10 PM members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit were conducting surveillance on an apartment located at 19 Pattison Street in Worcester for the purpose of locating a male who was known to have numerous outstanding arrest warrants.
Worcester Police had warrants for Kevin Mulready, 26, of 19 Pattison Street. Members of the Gang Unit approached the building and knocked on the apartment door. Richard Wehho, 37, who also resides at 19 Pattison Street answered the door and allowed the officers to enter the apartment. While in the apartment officers observed, while in plain view, a small electronic scale covered with marijuana. Based on these observations, officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment.
During the execution of the search warrant at 19 Pattison Street, officers seized numerous small bags of marijuana, cocaine and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. In addition, officers seized two handguns; a Glock 9mm and a JEI .22 Cal. along with two large capacity magazines loaded with ammunition; the guns were unloaded. A further search revealed an AR clip loaded with numerous rounds.
Richard Wenho was charged with two counts of Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device, 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of Class D with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of Class B Substance.
Kevin Mulready, who arrived home while the search warrant was being executed, was placed under arrest and charged with one count of Possession of Class B Substance along with the numerous outstanding warrants of arrest for the following charges: Resisting Arrest, Disturbing the Peace, Witness Intimidation and Threatening to Commit a Crime.
Wenho and Mulready were arraigned on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Worcester County District Court House.
