Worcester, MA (November 14, 2011) - On Monday, November 14, 2011 at 6:30 AM, Jennifer Horton, 27 years old of 515 Burncoat Street, Worcester, approached the Worcester Police Department Service Division window and turned herself in on an outstanding arrest warrant for Armed Robbery.
This warrant was the result of an investigation in which police responded to a report of a robbery on Friday, 11/11/11 in the area of 200 Vernon Street. On that day, Worcester Police responded to meet with a victim at 200 Vernon Street. Upon the officers' arrival they met with a 54 year old victim of he robbery. According to the victim, he was sitting in the back seat of a car driven by Ms. Horton with another male in the front passenger seat. The male passenger is an acquaintance of the victim and the female was unknown. Not far from his home the car stopped and the male and Ms. Horton each brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim demanding cash and his prescription medications. The male in the passenger seat searched the victim and took cash and his medication. At this time the male sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and walk home while the two suspects drove off.
Information provided by the victim eventually led to the identities of the two suspects. Police continue to search for the second suspect and will not be releasing his name at this time. Ms. Horton will be transported to the Worcester County District Courthouse today for arraignment.
The victim, although suffering from the effects of the pepper spray, was not hurt in this incident. Police continue to search for the second suspect who has warrants for Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
