Woman Robbed at Gunpoint as She Unloads Groceries

Worcester, MA (June 28, 2011) - On Monday, June 27, 2011 at approximately 8:00 PM Worcester Police responded to a Benefit Street home for a reported armed robbery which had just occurred. Upon the officers' arrival they met with the 52 year old female victim. According to the victim, she had just arrived home and was unloading her groceries from her car when she was approached by three males, one of which was holding a gun. The males demanded her purse, opened the side door and took the bag. The suspects ran off towards the end of Benefit Street and tucked into some bushes.

The descriptions of the three suspects are as follows:

Suspect #1 - Hispanic male, twenties, approximately 5’4” tall, wearing a blue shirt with shorts. This is the male with the gun.

Suspect #2 - Hispanic male, twenties, white shirt, jean shorts.

Suspect #3 - Unable to obtain a description at this time.

The Worcester Police Detective Bureau was called to the scene along with the Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit. The victim, who was unhurt, was interviewed by detectives working the case.
