Woman Arrested After Police Receive Drug Tip

Worcester, MA (January 12, 2012) - On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad conducted two controlled buys of heroin from a female resident at 115 Pleasant Street. This drug investigation was the result of numerous complaints that the vice squad received from the Worcester Police Text-A-Tip anonymous hotline. Information received from the tipsters explained that a resident of the building, Ms. Erica Leblanc, is in possession of heroin and crack cocaine which was packaged for sale, and being sold out of her apartment.

While conducting surveillance, the officers observed Ms. Leblanc along with two other females enter a green Lexus. Vice officers followed this vehicle and eventually stopped it at Murray Avenue and Wellington Street. Ms. Leblanc was in possession of a Sprite soda can which turned out to have a false top. Inside the can, police discovered 31 individually wrapped half grams of heroin and two individually wrapped rocks of crack cocaine.

As a result of this discovery, Ms. Leblanc, 29 years old of 115 Pleasant Street, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of Class B Substance with the Intent to Distribute. Ms. Leblanc was also charged with a Drug Violation Within 1,000 Feet of a School (Jacob Hiatt). Ms. Leblanc was also in possession of $1,727.00 which was confiscated by the officers.

Ms. Leblanc was arraigned today at the Worcester County District Courthouse.

There will be no new additional information released at this time.
