Vice Squad Makes Drug Trafficking Arrest

Worcester, MA (January 18, 2012) - On January 17, 2012, at approximately 8:00 PM members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad were conducting surveillance on a home located at 34 Superior Road in Worcester for the purpose of executing a search warrant. Officers observed the target of this warrant, John Skandier, 59, leave the home and enter his vehicle. Officers stopped Skandier in his vehicle while traveling on Harrington Way. Police searched Skandier and recovered two bags of cocaine, one plastic case containing cocaine, a sandwich bag containing cocaine and five paper folds of cocaine along with $3,697.00 in cash.

At approximately 8:25 PM members of the vice squad execution the search warrant of Skandier’s home. Police seized approximately 145 grams of cocaine, numerous oxycodone pills, and $21,325.00 in U.S. currency and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search warrant, Mr. Skandier was charged with Distribution/Manufacturing Class B, 2nd or Subsequent Offense, Trafficking in Class B, 100 -199 grams and a Drug Violation within 1000’ of a School Zone (North High School).

Mr. Skandier was arraigned at the Worcester County District Court House on January 18, 2012.

There will be no new additional information released at this time.
