Worcester, MA (July 24, 2017) – On Monday, July 24, 2017, members of the WPD Vice Squad were patrolling the Vernon Hill area in unmarked police vehicles. During the early afternoon, one of the officers observed a female walking in the rain acting suspicious. The female, later identified as Nicole Deeter, 29-years-old, of 130 Park Hill Avenue, Millbury, was seen walking on several streets, in the heavy rain, and meet up with a group of people. Ms. Deeter was then observed running onto Sterling Street and enters a Blue Subaru. The officer began to follow the Subaru.
As the vehicle approached Vernon Street it came to a stop. It became clear to the officer that the vehicle was not going to pull out onto Vernon Street so he began to pass the vehicle. As the officer passed the Subaru he observed the driver counting money. At this time the officer believed that he was witnessing a street level drug transaction take place. The officer stopped his unmarked vehicle and approached the driver. The officer ordered the driver to show his hands. The driver had cash in one hand and nine bags of heroin in the other. The officer also observed Ms. Deeter to be holding money as well.
The driver was identified as Luiyi Almonte, 21-years-old of 70 Fox Street. Mr. Almonte was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute. Ms. Deeter was also placed under arrest and charged with Knowingly Being Present were Heroin is kept.
Both suspects will be arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse. The cash and drugs were confiscated as evidence.
