Vice Officers Discover Heroin Hidden in Pringles Container

Worcester, MA (April 29, 2013) - On April 29, 2013 members of the Vice Squad were conducting surveillance in the area of 280 Providence Street.  While conducting surveillance officers observed a black Hyundai enter a nearby parking lot.  The occupants in the vehicle were identified as 21-year-old Jose Clemente and 24-year-old William Gonzalez of Worcester.  A short time later, a Pontiac Grand Am with two female occupants pulled into the parking lot.  The female occupants were identified as 54-year-old Norma Costonguay and 62-year-old Julia Perretti.  The two cars then pulled out of the parking lot and traveled to Gloucester Road.  Ms. Perretti exited the car and entered into the other car with Mr. Clemente and Mr. Gonzalez. Ms. Perretti returned to the Pontiac and the two cars began to drive away. When occupants noticed that they were being followed by police they accelerated.

Officers stopped both vehicles. Police seized one half gram of heroin from the vehicle of Ms. Perretti and Ms. Constonguay. 

As officers approached the vehicle of Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Clemente, they started to move around the vehicle frantically.  The men ignored the first command by officers to open the door but later complied.  During the investigation, approximately 10 knotted bags of heroin were recovered in the door handle.  Vice Detectives recovered approximately 103 knotted bags of heroin inside of a Pringles container. In addition to the narcotics, police seized approximately $1,216 cash and notes containing dates detailing the sale of heroin.  The total weight of the heroin is approximately 55 grams.  

William Gonzalez, 24, of 15 Queen Street, Apartment 2, Worcester was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance, Trafficking in Heroin-28 to 99 Grams, and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Jose Clemente, 21, of 15 Queen Street, Apartment 2, Worcester was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance, Trafficking in Heroin-28 to 99 Grams, and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Norma Costonguay, 54, of 14 Murray Avenue, Worcester was charged with Possession of Class A Substance, Knowing Where Heroin is Kept or Present, and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Julia Perretti, 62, of 7 William Road, North Grafton was charged with Possession of Class A Substance, Knowing Where Heroin is Kept or Present, and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
