Update to Oliver Street Stabbing Incident

Worcester, MA (March 20, 2017)- Investigators continue to work on the stabbing incident on Oliver Street that occurred last night. During the evening a 17-year-old male was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Assault with the Intent to Murder, Armed Assault with Intent to Rob and Assault and Battery. This juvenile is believed to have been the male seen walking on Birch Street while in possession of a machete. This male is being held on $10,040 cash bail.

The two stabbing victims were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital. Each male had received several cuts and lacerations.

This investigation thus far indicates that the initial story told to police about the attempted robbery was untrue. It appears now that the injuries were received during a fight. The fight was over a marijuana purchase that had gone bad. The male that received the head injury from the blunt object was on Oliver Street to meet with the juveniles for the purpose of selling them marijuana.

The 26-year-old male is suffering from a serious head injury and remains in the hospital at this time.

This investigation continues to be active.
