Worcester, MA (October 3, 2011) - On Saturday, October 1, 2011 at approximately 2:43 AM Worcester Police responded to the area of 60 Providence Street for a report of two gun shots being fired outside in that area. Responding officers were informed that a possible black Ford suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area. Prior to this call, one of the responding officers drove by that location and noticed several males standing outside of that particular area. This officer was now heading to the call. As he approached the intersection of Vernon Street and Winthrop Streets he observed a black Nissan Altima occupied by two males; the officer recognized the two as part of the group that had been seen standing in front of the Providence Street address. The officer stopped the vehicle at Kelly Square; he approached the driver identified as Juan Rohena, 23 years old of 85 Harrison Street, Worcester. At this time several other officers arrived and approached the passenger side where they identified the second occupant as Ramseys Espino, 23 years old of 13 Uxbridge Street, Worcester. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and questioned.
While escorting the second suspect out of the vehicle other officers observed a shot gun on the floor of the front passenger side. Mr. Espino and Mr. Rohena were quickly placed under arrest. The officers secured the shot gun which was loaded with 4 rounds. A check of the shot gun revealed that it had been reported stolen out of Gardner, Ma in 2007.
