Worcester, MA (March 13, 2012) - On Monday March 12, 2012 at approximately 7:00 PM Worcester Police responded to the area of Barclay Street, near Aetna Street, for a report of an altercation in which two males were stabbed. Upon police arrival they met with two males who received minor stab wounds.
Police spoke with a 27 year old male victim who informed them that he was in his home when he heard a fight between a male and a female taking place outside nearby. The male victim observed the male suspect punch the female in the face in the street. The victim went outside to break up the fight and assist the female. At the same time another male victim, a 29 year old Worcester resident came outside to assist the female as well.
The two victims informed the officers that once they attempted to break up the fight the male suspect and his friend engaged in a physical altercation with them. During the fight one of the suspects received a small laceration to the neck and the other victim received a minor stab wound to the back. The victim with the neck wound refused treatment while the victim with the back wound went to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Worcester Police operation officers have identified the person who assaulted the female and are currently working with detectives in identifying which male suspect stabbed the two victims. This investigation is ongoing.
