Worcester, MA (October 24, 2011) - On Friday, October 21, 2011 Worcester Police Vice Squad was in possession of a no knock search warrant for 33 Colton Street, 3rd floor apartment. The named targets were Sysomphone and Sengaloun Vongchampa. Surveillance was set up at approximately 6:00 AM as members of the Worcester Police SWAT Team made entry into the apartment. A safe entry was made and four occupants were secured, including the two named targets. Vice Squad members showed the occupants the search warrant and then executed the search. During the search the officers discovered a 380 handgun, a .22 caliber rifle, 4 grams of cocaine, drug packaging materials, several ounces of marijuana packed in several different bags, a digital scale, cell phones, several bags containing ecstasy pills, brass knuckles, numerous rounds of ammunition and $2,180 in cash. All evidence was processed for trial.
Both brothers were charged with 2 counts of the Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of Class B (ecstasy pills) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class B (cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class D (marijuana) with the Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
Both men were arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Monday, October 24, 2011.
