The Worcester Police Department donates $1,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, courtesy of the Worcester Railers HC Foundation

Worcester, MA (September 7, 2017) –In the first annual Battle of the Badges, where donors were given a vote to cast in honor of the Worcester Police Department or Worcester Fire Department, the Worcester Police Department defeated the Worcester Fire Department 151 to 104 to capture the Battle of the Badges trophy. The 216 units of blood collected was the largest total at any event held this year in Central Massachusetts, and the largest ever collected in the city of Worcester. The 216 units will save 648 lives. The Worcester Police Department donated $1,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, courtesy of the Worcester Railers HC Foundation. Today, Chief Steven M. Sargent delivered the check to the Worcester Boys and Girls Club. Chief Sargent presented the check to Liz Hamilton, Executive Director.
