Worcester, MA (April 22, 2017) - On Saturday, April 22, 2017 at approximately 10:12 AM, Worcester Police responded to an Austin Street apartment for a report of a stabbing. Upon the officers arrival they met with a 27-year-old male victim. The victim was suffering from a cut above his left eye. The victim was conscious alert.
Worcester EMS arrived at the scene and provided medical aid prior to being transported to a local hospital.
Officers learned that the victim and a male suspect were in a verbal argument when it escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight the suspect produced a knife and cut the victim above the eye. The suspect fled the scene on foot once the fight was over.
Witnesses provided a physical description of the suspect. Several officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results.
Officers have identified the suspect and a warrant for his arrest will be sought. The warrant will be for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
Members of the WPD Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed the area.
