Worcester, MA (March 28, 2017) - On Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at approximately 10:00 PM, Worcester Police responded to the area of 268 Grafton Street (Cumberland Farms) for a report of a shooting victim at that location. Worcester Police received the call from State Police who had come across the victim while patrolling the area.
Upon arrival, police located a 24 year old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The male was on the ground and being assisted by the state police. Shortly after Worcester Police arrived, paramedics also arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. At this time, the victim is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Information received during the initial investigation was that the victim was shot while in the driveway of an address on Cutler Street. After being shot, the victim fled the scene in his vehicle. While driving on Grafton Street, the victim was able to flag down a state trooper who was also driving on Grafton Street. The victim then pulled his vehicle into the Cumberland Farm’s parking lot where he informed the state trooper that he had been shot.
At this time, the investigation is still active as Worcester Detectives are attempting to locate evidence and witnesses who may have information regarding the shooting. There is no suspect information to release at this time as the victim refused to provide investigators with any information surrounding the shooting or possible suspects.
