Worcester, MA (March 26, 2017) - On Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3:30 AM, Worcester Police were dispatched to an apartment building on Millbury Street for a report of an Armed Robbery of an Individual. Police proceeded to a third floor apartment at that location and located a 55 year old male victim suffering from stab wounds to his hands. Paramedics were summoned to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The initial investigation revealed that the victim had been drinking at a local establishment during the evening. At some point, the victim decided to leave and started walking with the intention of calling a cab for a ride home. While the victim was walking, a male suspect approached him and offered to assist the victim in getting a cab. The male suspect led the victim to an apartment building on Millbury Street under the guise of assisting the victim. Once inside the building, the suspect pulled out a steak knife and attacked the victim, robbing him of an amount of currency. During the struggle, the victim sustained stabbing injuries to his hands while attempting to defend himself.
The suspect fled the scene after the assault. Witnesses on scene attempted to assist the victim and contacted police. At this time, the investigation is ongoing as police are still gathering information and speaking to witnesses.
