Police Investigate Main Street Armed Robbery

Worcester, MA (February 27, 2017) -On Monday, February 27, 2017 at approximately 6:40 PM, Worcester Police responded to the HighLo Gas station located at 1340 Main Street for a report of an Armed Robbery at the business. Prior to arrival, police were informed that the suspect was in possession of a firearm and had fired one round into the air during the robbery.

Upon arrival, police met with the 40 year old victim who is the manager at the gas station. The victim informed police that he was outside in the area of the gas pumps with a customer when he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect walked up to the victim and instructed him to hand over all his money. When the victim questioned the suspect, the suspect brandished a revolver style handgun and fired one round into the air. The victim then handed over an amount of currency from his pocket. The suspect fled on foot in the direction of Eureka Street.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a mask covering his face with a dark colored sweatshirt. Responding units searched the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful. Worcester Police Detectives responded to the scene to collect evidence and speak with the victim and witnesses.  The victim was not injured during this incident.
