Police Increasing Patrols Around Schools After Two Men Attempt To Entice 14-Year Old Girl Into Van

Worcester, MA (January, 27, 2014) - Monday, January 27, 2014, at approximately 7:00 AM Worcester Police were dispatched to the area of May and Hollywood Streets for a report of two men trying to entice a 14-year-old girl into their van.  Officers searched the area extensively but were unable to locate the vehicle.

The 14-year-old girl was on her way to the bus stop when a white van pulled up next to her.  Two men inside the van demanded that she get in the vehicle.  When she refused, they showed her a dog in the van.  She became fearful that the dog would attack her and ran across the street.  The girl reported the incident to school officials.

The investigation is active. There is limited suspect information at this time.  The suspects are described as two white males.  One suspect is approximately 6 feet tall, thin build.  The vehicle is described as a white box type utility van.

In response to this incident, police are urging parents and students to be aware of their surrounding and report any suspicious activity.  Worcester Police will be increasing patrols during the hours when students are traveling to and from school.
