Worcester, MA (February 17, 2017) - On January 23, 2017, Worcester Police responded to the Shell Gas station on Madison Street for a report of a male who had been stabbed in the arm. Members of the Detective Bureau conducted an investigation and were able to identify the suspect in the stabbing as 35 year old Luis Rosas of Worcester. Worcester Police subsequently obtained a warrant for the arrest of Rosas on the charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
On February 16, 2017 at approximately 4:00 PM, Worcester Police Officers and Detectives along with members of the State Police attempted to locate Rosas at his residence located at 10 Bellevue Street. Officers knocked on the apartment door, and as they did other officers outside the residence observed Rosas looking out from a window in the apartment. At the same time, officers at the door could hear someone moving around in the apartment. Rosas refused to open the door, and officers were required to force the door open. Once inside, police observed that two couches had been pushed up against the door to the apartment as a barricade. Officers subsequently searched the apartment and located Rosas in the kitchen. He was placed under arrest without incident.
Rosas will be arraigned today in Worcester District Court.

Worcester, MA (January 23, 2017) - On January 23, 2017, at 7:20 PM, a Worcester Police called out with a 51 year old male who had just been stabbed in the area of the Shell Gas station on Madison Street. The officer observed the male to be suffering from a stab wound to his arm. Several officers arrived on scene along with members of the Detective Bureau.
The initial investigation revealed that a female was sitting in a motor vehicle at the gas station while a male friend was pumping gas. Police were informed that a male suspect approached the female and engaged her in a verbal altercation. The suspect then spit in the female’s face before fleeing the scene in a motor vehicle.
The 51 year old male victim was walking in close proximity to the gas station during this time. Believing that the male victim was somehow involved with the female from the earlier altercation, the suspect stopped his vehicle and confronted the male victim. The victim informed the suspect that he was not associated with the female from earlier, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm.
The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injury.
Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit responded to collect evidence and process the scene.
