Police Arrest 7 in Drug Ring Bust

Worcester, MA (May 11, 2012) - An eighteen month investigation by the Worcester Police Vice Squad and Gang Unit along with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police led to the arrest of seven members of a drug ring including several gang members. The investigation led to a Wire Intercept Warrant from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Through surveillance, police discovered that these individuals were selling large quantities of cocaine throughout Worcester County.

The arrests were made on Thursday May 10, 2012 and Friday May 12, 2012 after police obtained search warrants for four (4) residential properties including: 8 Meade Street, Worcester, 6 Sterling Street, Worcester, 105 Pearl Street Apt. #2, Clinton and 37 Myrtle Avenue Apt. #2, Webster. Police also obtain search warrants for two (2) storage areas/garages located at 45 Catherine Street, Worcester and 19 Woodford Street, Worcester.

As a result of the execution of these search warrants, police recovered more than a Kilo of cocaine with an approximate street value of $75,000. Police were also able to seize three (3) handguns, $15,000 in cash and seven (7) vehicles including a BMW, an Infiniti SUV and two Mercedes-Benz.

The lengthy investigation concluded with the following arrests:

  1. Jason Echevarria, 24 years old of 261 Lincoln Steet, Apt. 2, Worcester MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B (14-27 grams of cocaine), Trafficking in Class B (100-199 grams of cocaine) Possession of Class B Substance and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
  2. Anthony Cruz, 25 years old of 37 Myrtle Avenue, Webster, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (100-199 grams of cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
  3. Kelvin Xavier Arocho, 29 years old of 65 Main Street, Holden, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (200 grams of cocaine), two (2) counts of Possession of a Firearm without a License and two (2) counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony/Conspiracy.
  4. Varry Ramos, 35 years old of 12 Oliver Street, Worcester, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (200 grams of cocaine), Possession of a Firearm without a License and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony/Conspiracy.
  5. Ashley Cross, 23 years old of 6 Sterling Street, Worcester, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (14-27 grams of cocaine), Drug Violation within 1000 Feet of a School and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
  6. Jennifer Santiago, 28 years old of 8 Meade Street, Worcester, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (14-17 grams of cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.
  7. Keontae Duff, 21 years old of 8 Hillside Street, Worcester, MA was charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (200 grams of cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Arocho, Ramos and Duff were arraigned in Westborough District Court on Friday May 11, 2012. Echevarria, Cruz, Cross and Santiago were arraigned at the Worcester County Court House Friday May 11, 2012.
