One Arrest Made Regarding Country Club Blvd Shooting

Worcester, MA (May 10, 2017) - The police investigation relating to the May 7th shooting incident at 102 Country Club Blvd continues. Members of the Worcester Police Department were aware that there was an active arrest warrant in effect for Jesse Ababio, 22-years-old of 160 Country Club Blvd. The warrant was for Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling, Attempted Assault and Battery with a Firearm, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a LTC, Possession of a Firearm without an FID, and Carrying a Firearm without a License.

Today, May 10, 2017, at approximately 10:45 AM, a member of the Gang Unit along with two officers from the Operations EOPS Unit went to Mr. Ababio’s address. Mr. Ababio was located inside the apartment and placed under arrest without incident.

After the arrest was made the apartment was secured. Members of the WPD Detective Bureau sought and received a search warrant for the premises. The apartment was subsequently searched for evidence. Members of the Crime Scene Unit arrived and retrieved items related to the investigation.

Mr. Ababio is currently being held on $100,040 cash bail and will be arraigned tomorrow, May 11, 2017 at the Worcester County District Courthouse.

Police Investigating Sunday Afternoon Shooting at Country Club Blvd

Worcester, MA (May 7, 2017) – On Sunday May 7, 2017 at approximately 2:00 PM, police were dispatched to 102 Country Club Blvd for reported gun shots. Callers stated that they heard what sounded like two gunshots, followed by three more shots. After officers arrived, they were flagged down by a female inside the building. This female brought them to an apartment, where officers observed a twenty-year old female victim laying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to her leg.

The victim said that she was with two friends outside the building when a male approached them and began firing a gun at them. She said she did not recognize the suspect, whom she described as a black male with dreadlocks. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Witnesses stated that the suspect fled by vehicle. Officers found shell casings and other physical evidence related to the shooting. Detectives are currently investigating and no charges have been taken out.
