Worcester, MA (April 26, 2017) - On Wednesday April 26th at approximately 1130 hrs, members of the Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team were conducting surveillance of 14 Oread St. The landlord of the property and several area residents had complained of cocaine and heroin being sold from this address. The building has a “No Trespassing” sign prominently posted.
Officers observed numerous individuals enter the building and leave less than a minute afterward. This type of behavior is indicative of drug dealing. Officers observed a gray Lexus SUV pull in front of the address. A female, later identified as twenty-nine year old Jessica Savankham, entered the building at 14 Oread and returned to her vehicle approximately a minute later. Officers observed her give a small object to a male in the motor vehicle, later identified as Kervins Eugene, thirty-six years old of 8 Ward Farm Circle.
Officers stopped the vehicle as it pulled away from the address. Officers recovered a small amount of heroin from Ms. Savankham. Mr. Eugene, who was driving the car, did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle. Both of them were arrested.
Officers continued their surveillance, and observed a white male enter the address and quickly leave, appearing to place a small object in his jacket pockets as he did so. The male was followed back to a car on Beacon St. As he attempted to get into the vehicle, officers stopped him. As they asked the male to exit the car, they observed a small “crack pipe.” As the male got out of the car, officers observed a small rock of crack cocaine dislodge from the pipe and land on the front seat. A search of the car revealed a plastic bag with more crack cocaine inside. The male, who was identified as Kevin Wade, twenty-seven years old of 8 Norwood St, was placed under arrest.
All four suspects will be arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
