Worcester, MA (June 26, 2013) - On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at approximately 11:20 PM police were called to the area of Seymour Street for a report of a man with a machete. Police located 40-year-old Eric Crosby and a female victim. Officers ordered Mr. Crosby to drop the machete. Mr. Crosby complied and officers placed him in handcuffs.
During the investigation, police learned that Mr. Crosby engaged in a verbal altercation with the female victim. He proceeded to follow her through the neighborhood carrying the machete. Witnesses observed Mr. Crosby continue to yell at the female while holding the weapon. Residents in the neighborhood became alarmed and fearful. At this time, a call was made to police. One resident tried to intervene to help the female. Mr. Crosby threatened the man for trying to assist with the situation. Police arrived on scene and apprehended Mr. Crosby.
Eric Crosby, 40, of 106 Endicott Street, Apartment 2, Worcester was charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Intimidating a Witness and Threatening to Commit a Crime.
Mr. Crosby will be arraigned today at the Worcester County District Court House.
