Worcester, MA (September 9, 2010) - On Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at approximately 10:05 PM Worcester Police responded to 7 Dorrance Street for a report of several gunshots that were fired. Upon the officers' arrival they were informed that a male was shot several times and that he was driven by friends to a local hospital prior to the officers' arrival. Moments later police received information that a male just arrived at a local hospital suffering from 3 gunshot wounds. Worcester Police responded to the hospital while Worcester Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the Dorrance Street apartment. A crime scene was located and is being processed.
The victim, a 30 year old Worcester resident, is stable with non life threatening injuries. He was shot in his forearm, ankle and knee. Worcester Detectives have been talking to the victim and are trying to determine the motive for this shooting.
Several witnesses have been identified and they are being interviewed by police at the police station. Other officers are currently canvassing the immediate area for information. Investigators have received conflicting information with regard to the suspect physical description. This investigation is ongoing.
