Worcester, MA (April 2, 2013) - On Monday, April 1, 2013 at approximately 10:00 AM, Worcester Police responded to a Delmont Avenue home for a report of a house break in progress. The caller was a 19-year-old female who informed police that she was home and a male had just kicked in her side door and entered. The victim was hiding in a crawl space when she called the police. The victim stated that she could hear the suspect walking around inside her house.
Several officers arrived within minutes and entered the home. Police observed the side door forced open. Police searched the home and located the suspect hiding in a closet. The male was removed from the closet, searched and placed under arrest. A screw driver was located in the suspect’s pant pocket.
The suspect was identified as Sam Jyebi, 19-years-old of 5 Chrome Street, Worcester. Mr. Jyebi was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property Over the Value of $250.00, Breaking and Entering in the Daytime with the Intent to Commit a Felony and Possession of Burglarious Instruments.
Mr. Jyebi was transported back to police headquarters and processed; he was later transported to the Worcester County District Courthouse for arraignment. The female resident was unhurt during this ordeal.
