Worcester, MA (April 12, 2013) - On April 12, 2013 at approximately 3:00 AM, Worcester Police responded to a local hospital emergency room for a report of a shooting victim who had just arrived. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim’s friend. According to the friend, the 21-year-old victim was shot when they were sitting in a vehicle on Coral Street by Clarkson Street. The friend immediately drove the victim to the nearest hospital.
The victim is listed in critical condition. Worcester Police investigators arrived at the hospital and interviewed the friend. The vehicle that the two males were in was towed to police headquarters to be inspected.
Investigators located the scene of the shooting on Coral Street. The Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit was called in to process the scene for evidence.
This investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to work on the identities of the suspect (s) and attempt to determine the motive and circumstances that lead up to the shooting.
