Worcester, MA (May 6, 2017) – On 5/6/17 at approximately 234 AM, police responded to the Boulevard Diner at 155 Shrewsbury St for a report of a large fight that resulted in a stabbing. Responding officers saw a moderate amount of blood on the street outside the diner, and located the victim, who had been stabbed in the hand. The scene was still chaotic, with numerous people shouting and crying, and the victim was not cooperative with officers. Officers secured the crime scene and spoke with several witnesses. Members of the detective bureau and crime scene unit responded.
Once officers determined that the fight was over, they reviewed surveillance footage from area businesses. Officers observed one male, identified as Augustus Kormah, twenty-six years old of 17 Cheever St, who appeared to be the aggressor in the fight. Witnesses confirmed that this was the male who stabbed the victim. Officers broadcast the suspect information and cleared the scene.
Shortly thereafter, people in the area of Boulevard Diner called the police to report that the suspect was back. Officers located Mr. Kormah, who had apparently lost his phone and keys during the confrontation and had returned to collect them. Officers confirmed that he was the male they had identified from the video. Mr. Kormah was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and will be arraigned Monday in the Worcester District Court.
