High School Graduation Party Results in Shooting on Narragansett Ave

Worcester, MA (June 11, 2017) - On June 11th at about 12:30 AM, police were dispatched to a Narragansett Ave address for a report of a large party that resulted in a shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered a chaotic scene with a large group still present. Police located a thirty-eight-year-old male with a gunshot in the lower rib area. The male was uncooperative, and was transported to the hospital by paramedics. He is expected to survive.

Police began speaking with witnesses. The party was for a high school graduation, and had about a hundred guests. Problems began when a small group showed up uninvited. After a dispute, the uninvited group began physically fighting with people present. During the fight, one of the uninvited people fighting shot the thirty-eight-year-old man once in the ribs. The uninvited group drove away and fired two more shots as they left. No one else was seriously injured.

The Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit responded, and evidence was located. This investigation is ongoing.
