Gang Unit Officers Arrest Two Men on Firearms Charges

Worcester, MA (June 5, 2017) – On Saturday, June 3, 2017 at approximately 2:00 AM members of the gang unit were on patrol on Park Ave. when they observed a group of males at Mahoney’s Pub located at 413 Park Ave. The group of males was known to the officers and some of the males were underage. When officers entered the bar, two of males moved their hands toward their waist and turned their backs to them. The two males then proceeded to run into the bathroom. Officers entered the bathroom and recovered a loaded firearm.

Michael Hopkins, 23, of 8 Woodford Street, Worcester was charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm.

Kevin Jones, 24, of 22 Oakview Street, Worcester was charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm.
