Worcester, MA (September, 9, 2013) - On Friday, September 6, 2013 at approximately 8:11 PM, Worcester Police responded to the area of 6 Euclid Avenue for a report of a loud disturbance outside. Upon the officers' arrival there was no disturbance noted and few people in the area. One resident explained to the officer that there were two women fighting in the street but it had ended and the combatants dispersed.
At 8:30 PM, police received information that a female had walked into the emergency room of U-Mass Memorial Hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police arrived at the hospital and met with the 24-year-old female victim. According to the victim, she has had past problems with the suspect. The victim stated that she went to the suspect’s house to fight. The two began to fight in the middle of the street when the victim was stabbed several times in the left arm and shoulder area. Once she realized she was stabbed, the victim fled with a friend and drove directly to the hospital. The wounds are non-life threatening. The wounds required numerous staples to close.
The suspect was identified as Mallory Shelly, 25-years-old of 6 Euclid Avenue, Worcester.
Officers went to 6 Euclid Avenue and met with Ms. Shelly. After a brief conversation, Ms. Shelly was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Assault with the Intent to Murder.
A crime scene was located and the Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit responded and processed evidence. Ms. Shelly was held at police headquarters this weekend on $10,040 cash bail. She was transported to the Worcester County District Courthouse this morning for arraignment.
