Worcester, MA (June 20, 2017) – On June 20th, 2017, Worcester police made an arrest for a house break that occurred on October 19th, 2016.
On October 19th, 2016, officers responded to an address on Timrod Drive for a report of a house break. The suspect had shattered a window and entered the home while the homeowner was gone. The responding officer took an inventory of all of the stolen items, including tablet computers and jewelry. The Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the scene. The case was then forwarded to the Breaking and Entering unit of the Detective Bureau.
While conducting checks of the city’s pawn shops, detectives noticed several items sold in one transaction that appeared to be identical to those stolen on Timrod Drive. Detectives found the name of the person who sold these items, identified as Jeffrey Zander, forty-one-years-old of 51B Timrod Drive, and spoke with him.
As a result of the investigation, Mr. Zander was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering, Larceny over $250, and Defacement of Real or Personal Property. He will be arraigned today in Worcester District Court.
