Arrest Made in Home Invasion

Worcester, MA (August 2, 2013) - On Thursday, August 1, 2013, at approximately 6:50 PM Worcester Police were dispatched to an apartment on the 800 block of Main Street.  Upon arrival, officers met with a male and female in the apartment who told police about a home invasion that just occurred. 

The suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Robert Colon, kicked in the door to the apartment.  When Mr. Colon gained entry to the home, he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened the victims with it.  Mr. Colon then went on to attack the male victim.  The victim had bruises and swelling on his face.  Mr. Colon fled the apartment on foot.

Police identified the suspect and located him a short time later on Main Street.  Police learned that Mr. Colon was known to the victims.    Mr. Colon was placed under arrest and transported to Worcester Police Headquarters.

Robert Colon, 44, of 25 Queen Street, Worcester, MA was charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Home Invasion.

The investigation is ongoing as police try to determine a motive for the home invasion.
