Worcester, MA (July 22, 2017) – On Saturday July 22nd, 2017 at about 7:24 PM, an off-duty police officer called out with a motorcycle crash in the area of Chandler St at Oxford St. Police and paramedics responded to the scene. The medics began CPR on the victim, a forty-six-year-old Webster man, who was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Police shut down a section of Chandler St and called for the Accident Reconstruction Unit.
The Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and began to investigate. The preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle was travelling east on Chandler St, and was impacted by a Green 2003 Honda Accord in the area of Chandler and Wellington St. The motorcycle then impacted a Gray 2011 Nissan Altima that was travelling westbound on Chandler St. Investigators spoke with the operators of both sedans, and other witnesses.
The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 8 PM, after suffering massive chest trauma with internal injuries. The crash is still under investigation. At this time, no charges or citations have been issued.
