Worcester, MA (January 18, 2012) - On Tuesday, January 17, 2012, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad executed a search warrant for 36 Canterbury Street. The target of the search warrant, Melvin Sanchez-Reyes, 40 years old, was not home at the time of the raid. Officers searched the apartment and discovered 120 packets of heroin.

While searching the apartment, officers observed a green SUV parked in the driveway of 36 Canterbury Street with two male occupants. One of the males in the vehicle was known to the vice officers to be Jose Serrano, 30 years old of 72 Orient Street, Worcester. At this time officers observed a man approach the suspect's vehicle; he was later identified as Blake Fouracre, 39 years old of 100 Old Hillside Drive, Glendale, RI. Mr. Fouracre had $80.00 in his possession and admitted to the vice officers that he was there to purchase heroin. At the time that officers intercepted the SUV, Mr. Serrano was found to have 20 packets of heroin in his hand and $471.00 in his possession. Both men were placed under arrest. Mr. Serrano was charged with Possession of Class A (2nd or subsequent offence) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws while Mr. Fouracre was charged with Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws along with numerous default warrants for motor vehicle infractions.

As officers continued their search of the apartment a black vehicle stopped in front of the apartment for a brief moment and then sped off. Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered Mr. Sanchez-Reyes and Edwin Cardona, 23 years old of 36 Canterbury Street in the vehicle. Cardona and Sanchez-Reyes were both placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A with Intent to Distribute. Officers confiscated $153.00 from Sanchez-Reyes and $69.00 from Cardona. Mr. Sanchez-Reyes also has outstanding arrest warrants for motor vehicle infractions.

All four men were arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
