16 Year Old Shot While Walking on Mendon Street

Worcester, MA (April 21, 2013) - On Saturday, April 20, 2013 at approximately 8:37 PM, Worcester Police responded to a Penn Avenue apartment for a report of a shooting incident. Upon the officers' arrival they met with a 16 year old victim. According to the victim he was walking on Mendon Street by Aetna Street when a vehicle drove up next to him. An unknown occupant of this vehicle began to fire a gun at the male. The male began to run but was struck once in the buttocks. The vehicle drove off in an unknown direction.

The victim was conscious and alert when police arrived and was transported to a nearby hospital. His injuries are non life threatening.

Investigators arrived at the apartment and conducted interviews with those who were present. Investigators also searched the area where the shooting allegedly occurred.
