Worcester, MA (November 2, 2017) - On November 2, 2017, a Worcester Police Resource Officer was working at North High School today. During the morning hours the officer was with one of the vice principals when they received information indicating that a student had arrived at school in possession of an electronic stun gun. The officer was informed that the student was pretending to tase people with the electronic device.
The officer and school officials located the student and asked if he was in possession of the device. The student stated that the stun gun was in his locker. The locker was opened and officials recovered a 5,000 volt stun gun model #928.
The student was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of an Electronic Stun Gun and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The student, a 14-year-old male, was removed from school property and transported to police headquarters via patrol car.
There were no injuries reported along with minimal disruption to the student body.
The juvenile will be arraigned at the Worcester County District Juvenile Courthouse on a date yet to be determined.
