Worcester, MA (June 7, 2017) – On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, members of the WPD Vice Squad were in possession of a search warrant for a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The named target of the warrant was identified as Noemi Ramos, 34-years-old of 95 Chandler Street.
At approximately 4:00 PM, vice officers set up surveillance. At approximately 6:00 PM, the Jeep was followed to the parking lot of the Burger King restaurant located at Kelley Square. Ms. Ramos was observed meeting with a person that pulled up in a Buick. The two were seen making a quick exchange. After the exchange the two parted in separate ways. Vice officers believed they had just observed a street level drug deal take place. The Buick was followed by some officers while Ms. Ramos was followed by the remaining officers. The Buick was stopped by Massasoit Road and Route 20. A passenger was identified as Erin O’Leary, 43-years-old of 38 Tiffany Circle, Millbury.
Ms. O’Leary was observed placing a knotted plastic baggie into her mouth and ingests the contents. It is believed that the baggie contained heroin. A search of Ms. O’Leary produced a baggie of cocaine. Ms. O’Leary was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A Substance and Possession of Class B Substance.
Officers followed Ms. Ramos to a parking lot located at 152 Chandler Street. At approximately 6:40 PM, Ms. Ramos was seen exiting the building and enter her Jeep. Ms. Ramos started to drive off but was stopped by the officers. A search of Ms. Ramos produced 31 individual knotted bags of heroin and $815.00 in cash. A search of the Jeep produced one more knotted bag of heroin. The total weight of heroin recovered at this point was approximately 10 grams.
Officers were granted a search warrant for 152 Chandler Street. At approximately 7:50 PM officers executed the search. The search produced a bottle containing 7 knotted bags of heroin weighing 2.3 grams, 6 more grams of heroin in a sandwich bag, another sandwich bag containing 12.67 grams of heroin and $80.00 in counterfeit money. The total weight of the entire heroin recovered was approximately 30.97 grams.
Ms. Ramos was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance and trafficking in Heroin (18-36 grams).
The Jeep and drugs was seized as part of the investigation. Both suspects were arraigned today at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
