Worcester, MA (January 22, 2012) - On Sunday January 22, 2012 at approximately 12:05 AM Worcester Police responded to a disturbance call in the area of Mount Pleasant and Allen Streets for a report of a large group fighting in the street. Upon the officers' arrival they searched the area but no disturbance was located. Approximately 10 minutes later police received a call that a man had just walked into the emergency room of St. Vincent Hospital suffering from 3 gunshot wounds. Officers continued to investigate the initial call while others responded to the hospital.
Upon arrival at the emergency room officers spoke to the victim. According to the victim, he was at a party located at a Benefit Street home when he was involved in a verbal argument which quickly escalated into the shooting. The victim was shot once in the right shoulder and twice in his lower right leg. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.
Worcester Police Detectives along with the Shooting Response Team are now investigating this incident. Witnesses have been located and interviewed while the crime scene unit processed evidence. Investigators are working on establishing the identity of the suspect.
