Worcester, MA (April 16, 2017) - On Saturday, April 15, 2017 at approximately 10:05 PM, Worcester Police responded to a Dawson Road address for a reported home invasion. Responding officers were informed that there was a male shot and that the intruder(s) may still be at the scene. Upon the officers arrival they observed a male lying on the ground by the side entrance of the home. The male was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. The male was semi-conscious and said very little.

Officers learned that two more victims were located in the basement. The two in the basement were the residents of the home. A 21-year-old female was suffering from a minor injury to her ankle while the 24-year-old male was suffering from a serious gunshot wound.

Officers were told that the male outside by the side door was a suspect in the home invasion.

Both males were treated at the scene by Worcester EMS and members of the Worcester Fire Department and then transported to a local hospital.

The condition of the two are unknown at this time.

Police at the scene were told that the male suspect approached the side door and demanded to enter the home. The male had made threats with a gun. The male resident of the home exchanged gunfire with the suspect resulting in both being hit.

The female stated that she ran downstairs towards the basement when she injured her ankle.

Officers received information that there was a possible second suspect that ran off after the exchange of gunfire. Officers received conflicting descriptions of the possible second suspect. Several police officers conducted a search but the results were negative at this time.
