Worcester, MA (March 1, 2013) - On March 1, 2013 at approximately 9:40 AM Worcester Police responded to Commerce Bank, 560 Park Avenue for a reported bank robbery. Upon police arrival they met with bank employees. According to one of the tellers, a male approached the counter and handed her a note which demanded cash. The suspect had a gun and placed it on the counter for her to see.
The suspect was handed cash and he fled out of the front door. The suspect is described as either a Hispanic or light skinned black male, approximately 6’0” tall, medium build, thin moustache and short black hair.
The Worcester Police Detective Bureau responded to the bank as well as the Crime Scene Unit. The crime scene is being processed for evidence while investigators are conducting interviews. Investigators are also reviewing security camera film footage to obtain a more detailed suspect description.
