Worcester, MA (March 27, 2017) - On Saturday, March 25, 2017 at approximately 3:00 AM an officer working out of the Operations Division was on patrol in the area of Providence and Waverly Streets. At this time, the officer observed a large crowd standing in the middle of Providence Street being disorderly, loud and yelling.
With the assistance of additional officers, the crowd was told to disperse. The majority of the people complied and began to leave the area. Several minutes later a male ran out of 48 Providence Street and into a parking lot. This male, later identified as Argenis Cordova-Sanchez, 19-years-old of 36 Grosvenor Street, Worcester, began to assault several people in the lot.
Officers approached Mr. Cordova-Sanchez and placed him under arrest. Mr. Cordova-Sanchez was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace and Affray. Mr. Cordova-Sanchez also had an existing arrest warrant in effect for a Parole Violation.
Officers at the scene estimated approximately 20 to 30 people that were dispersed from the area of 48 Providence Street. Officers are familiar with the location due to past incidents of disturbances and loud parties.
