On Monday, 01/08/2018, members of the Worcester Police Vice squad were in possession of a search warrant for 11 Allen Street, apartment #1. At approximately 4:50 PM, vice officers made entry into the apartment. Once inside the apartment officers immediately located a female in the living room. The female was identified as Rachelle Brooks, 31-years-old of 10 Davidson Road, Worcester and of the 11 Allen Street apartment.
Officers entering the apartment noticed that a door leading into the bathroom slammed shut. Officers immediately went to the door and realized that it was locked. A male inside, identified later as Carlos Baez, 36-years-old of 11 Allen Street, refused to open the door. Officers could hear that the toilet was being flushed. At this time the officers kicked in the door and discovered Mr. Baez attempting to flush drug evidence down the toilet. Officers were able to secure Mr. Baez before he could complete his task.
Vice officers discovered one knotted plastic baggie that contained cocaine. The bag weighed approximately 12 grams and was located near the toilet.
The search of the apartment produced a scale, plastic baggies, cell phones, and security cameras. The search also produced 6 suboxone pills, 6 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, and 5 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
Officers checked to see if either person possesses a LTC or an FID card. The check revealed that the two did not have the proper credentials to possess the ammunition.
Mr. Baez was placed under arrest and charged with Resisting Arrest, Tampering with Evidence, 2 Counts of Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of Class B Substance (Suboxone) and Possession of Class B Substance (Cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute, second or Subsequent Offense.
Ms. Brooks was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class B Substance (suboxone), Possession of Class B Substance (cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute and 2 Counts of Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
