On Thursday, December 13, 2018, at approximately 1:39 AM, Worcester Police responded to 995 Main Street for a reported stabbing. Upon the officers arrival they met with a 26-year-old female victim. The victim was sitting on the sidewalk, next to McDonald’s restaurant, and appeared to be suffering from a single stab wound.
Officers rendered first aid to the victim until Worcester EMS arrived. The victim was unable to provide details to what happened as she was losing consciousness. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A police officer accompanied the victim in the ambulance.
Police spoke with witnesses at the scene. The officers were told that the victim was arguing with a male. The description of the suspect was that the male was Hispanic, 5’8” tall and appeared to have short facial hair wearing a dark colored jacket and dark pants. Officers were told that the argument became physical and observed the female victim falling to the ground. The witnesses ran towards the female to see if she was ok. At this time the male suspect was last seen running up Freeland Street.
Members of the WPD Detective Bureau arrived at the scene and took over the investigation. WPD Crime Scene officers arrived and processed evidence.
The victim is in stable condition with injuries that are considered to be non-life threatening.
