On Monday, March 12, 2018, at approximately 3:14 AM, Worcester Police responded to U-Mass Medical Center Emergency Room for a report of a 22-year-old male gunshot victim that had just arrived. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the victim that was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the lower left leg.
WPD detectives arrived and interviewed the victim. The victim, a known member of a local gang, refused to cooperate with the officers and detectives. The victim stated that the incident occurred in the Vernon Street area but would not elaborate further with regard to a specific location. The victim was also uncooperative with hospital staff.
Operation officers had searched Vernon Street but due to a lack of a specific location, a crime scene was not located.
