On January 28th at about 8:30 AM, Worcester Police were dispatched to the area of the Worcester Ice Rink at 112 Harding St for a report of a car break. Upon arrival, officers saw a vehicle with the window smashed out. They spoke with a witness who saw the break, and described the suspect, who he said was walking toward the bus hub.
Officers drove down Harding St and located a male, later identified as Sergio Kristoff, who matched the description given by the witness. When Mr. Kristoff saw the police car, he immediately reversed direction and started walking the other way. He went onto the porch of a nearby building and tried to hide behind the brick pillar on the porch. The porch had a “no trespassing” sign. Officers spoke with the property manager, who confirmed that no one was allowed on the porch.
Mr. Kristoff was placed under arrest for trespassing and transported to the police station. A search incident to arrest revealed multiple cell phones, a wallet, change, and a small amount of marijuana. After looking at the security cameras at the Worcester Ice Rink, officers observed Mr. Kristoff break the vehicle window, enter the vehicle, and then walk away. He was charged with Trespassing, B&E to a Motor Vehicle, and Defacement of Property. He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
